  • We have a European Champion!

    On Sunday 23rd April Eason Zhang participated in a Kick Boxing Championship in Barnsley.  His category is under 11 and with a weight of between 30-39 kilos.

     

    Well fantastic news - he won!!  Here he is with his medal and belt.

     

    Well done Eason.

  • Brass Assembly

    Today the school was treated to a concert by a group of local brass music teachers! They performed a variety of different songs, highlighting the qualities of each of the instruments. Year 4 have been learning brass instruments this year as part of their music lessons and helped in the final piece! Photos can be seen below and videos are in the videos section of the website!

  • Sporting Events Roundup

    Mon 17 Apr 2023

    On Monday 17th April St Mary Magdalene Years 2/3 boys played Two Mile Ash school at football.  We won 3-1.  Goals were scored by Frankie Linger, Teddy Kiely and Henry Watson.

     

    On Tuesday 18th April Years 5/6 boys played a basketball match against Bushfield School.  This gave the pupils an opportunity to experience competition and develop their skills.  It was a draw.

     

    On Friday 21st April Years 3/4 boys and girls play Southwood School at netball and basketball.  The children gave their all, they actually got better as the games proceeded.  The girls one and drew on match.  For the boys Southwood won one and drew one.

  • CAFOD Big Lent Walk

    Thank you so so much.

     

    Today the sun shone (eventually!) for our Big Lent Walk.  Every child participated singing as they went.

     

    Today we raised £332 for CAFOD.  This bring our total Lenten fundraising to a grand total of £1,588!!!

     

    Thank you, you are amazing!

  • Years 5/6 Netball Tournament at St Paul's

    Well done to our fantastic group of girls in Yr5/6 showed and demonstrated excellent performances in their Netball games, great teamwork,  out of 4 games, they won 3 games and drew 1. Overall points scored per game placed us in 2nd in St Paul’s Netball Tournament

    7 of our Year 4 girls took part at St Paul’s annual Netball Tournament - great performance, credit to themselves and to our school.   Overall outstanding display finishing 2nd Place. 

     

    Thanks to all the St Paul’s staffs for hosting and young sports leaders.

  • Year 6 trip to London

    Yesterday (13th March) our Year 6 pupils spent the day in London.  We visited the Tate Modern, had dinner at Pizza Express then attended the evening performance of "The Tempest" at The Globe.  Everyone, staff and pupils had a fantastic time.  Staff at The Globe took the time to come and tell us how impressed they were of the children.  One gentleman said "in all the years volunteering at The Globe he had never seen children so well behaved, engaged and so full of enthusiasm".

  • Year 5/6 Dodgeball

    Few of our Year 5/6 stepping to represent St Mary’s  and having a great time playing Dodgeball against Whitehouse Primary. Demonstrating great, teamwork and determination, endless fun. Well done to all who participated.

  • Turkey and Syria Earthquake appeal - Funday

    This morning in just two hours our school community has raised an incredible £1256.00!  Your generosity for those less fortunate than ourselves has, as always, been overwhelming.  The creativity of the children's stalls, their kindness to one another and their determination to help others is truly amazing.  Our children are a credit to our school and to you as their parents.

     

    As you can see lots of fun was had by all!
