In the UK, the government's target for school attendance is 95%. This rate accounts for unavoidable absences due to illness or other circumstances.

Considered good attendance, meaning a child misses two weeks of school per year

90% or lower

The child is considered to have persistent absence (PA)

50% or less

The child is considered to have severely absence (SA)
