St Mary Magdalene

Our Patron Saint

St Mary Magdalene is a significant figure in the Catholic faith, known for her devotion, courage and witness to Jesus Christ.

She is often depicted holding an ointment jar and wearing scarlet robes.

St Mary Magdalene was the first person to witness Christ after his resurrection.

The values she represented during her life are:

  • Courage: She boldly followed Jesus even in dangerous or socially challenging situations.
  • Faithfulness: She remained devoted to Jesus throughout his ministry and was present at his crucifixion.
  • Witness and Testimony: She was first to witness the resurrection and shared this good news with the apostles earning her the title "Apostle of the Apostles".
  • Repentance and Transformation: She experienced forgiveness and personal transformation through Christ.
  • Love and Service: She showed love and devotion for Christ and the disciples.

Catholic Values Represented

  • Faith and Devotion to God - unwavering trust in Jesus and His teachings
  • Courage and Bravery - standing up for what is right despite fear or societal judgement
  • Witnessing and Evangelisation - sharing the message of Christ through words and actions
  • Repentance and Renewal - embracing God's forgiveness and striving for personal growth
  • Love and Compassion - caring for others selflessly and show Christ-like love.

Just as St Mary Magdalene was a faithful witness to the resurrection, we encourage our pupils to live out their faith boldly and compassionately, embracing challenges with courage and serving others with love.  Our school's central identity and mission is based on a commitment to faith, courage and service.
