Shoebox Nativity

Dear Parents/Carers

We are writing to you as the new liturgy leaders team for this year.

In our houses and in school we are all starting to think about getting ready for Christmas.  During this busy time it is so easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas, that is why we are asking everyone to take part in our “Keep Christ in Christmas” campaign.

We would like to invite all of our pupils and families to make a shoe box nativity scene and send it in to school.  You can use old toilet rolls, old boxes, paint, scissors, glue, clay, card, foil, felt pens, glitter, anything you can think of to create a manger scene as long as the end result reflects the true meaning of Christmas that is the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord.  This is not a fundraiser and we are not offering a prize.  It is totally voluntary but every child who creates a nativity will be given a Christmas prayer card to say thank you for taking the time to Keep Christ in Christmas.  Your creations can be sent in with your child any day between Monday 6th December and Wednesday 15th December.  Liturgy leaders will collect any sent in on a daily basis.

We know it’s short notice but this is due to us not being able to meet together as a team, but even if we only get a few in that would be lovely.

So go on, get creating!

Yours sincerely

Liturgy Leaders Team
