Coronavirus Update Letter 17/03/2020
I just wanted to let you know that we are doing all we can to keep the children safe. As you know Mr White has recently been abroad and is self isolating at home for the next 7 days.
With growing concerns about the Coronavirus we have very reluctantly cancelled our Mother’s Day assembly on Friday 20th to avoid having a mass gathering of people in the hall. We will put the assembly on the school website on Thursday evening ready for Friday. I am sorry but I do think under the circumstances it is for the best.
Parent’s evening is also cancelled as well as Easter Tea Shop, Stations of the Cross, Nursery ‘bring your Mum to nursery’ and ‘bring your dad to school’. Parent’s evening will hopefully happen next term. We feel it necessary to put in place the following sensible measures over the coming weeks which we will review after the Easter holidays:
No whole school assemblies
No class assemblies
All parent’s evenings will be cancelled
All whole school events will be cancelled
A review of planned education trips, each year group will be informed separately if a decision is made to cancel trips
Children who are currently due to attend Year 5/Year 6 residential trips will receive a letter in the coming days
All visitors to the school will be asked to use hand sanitiser/or wash hands before entering the school building
At this point in time the government has not issued a blanket statement to close schools.
The children raised a tremendous amount for NSPCC £1279.16. Thank you very much for all your generosity.
I am delighted to inform you that two of our pupils Tega (Y5) and Ruks (Y6) Oduko have successfully auditioned and gained a place in the Disney production of “The Lion King”. We are very proud of them and wish them every success. This is an amazing achievement.
Please rest assured we will continue to follow the latest government guidelines and NHS advice unless you are advised otherwise, please continue as normal to send your children to school.
