Father Bernard spoke to the children about the significance of the cross to Christians, led us all in prayer and a hymn.

Despite the cold windy weather it was a moving and memorable event in our school's history.

A big thank you as well to our Year 3/4 pupils who stepped up to help make up the numbers — your enthusiasm and teamwork were fantastic.

The aim of the scheme is to help children become safe bike riders.  The children go out around the Greenleys area developing road safety.

All the children had a great experience and have become more competent, safer bike riders.

We explored the rainforest and discovered tropical plants and fascinating animals.  We also had a brilliant tour that helped us to understand how we can live more sustainable lives.

At 2.30 pm we all gathered together to sing "Happy Birthday" to the school.

As staff we decided we just wanted to celebrate this event with our lovely children.  I think we had a very special day.

Our annual Sports Day was a fantastic display of energy, determination, and team spirit! From thrilling races to fun-filled relays, the pupils and staff came together for a day full of laughter, competition, and unforgettable moments. Whether sprinting for the finish line or cheering from the sidelines, everyone played a part in making the day a resounding success. Congratulations to all our participants and Matthew the winning house.

He had a great time and it was a really good experience! He saw Raheem Sterling and was star struck!!!

Brielle Owusu Ansah - Tina Turner Musical Limited

We are all so very proud of her and this amazing achievement!

Everyone slept really well, and enjoyed a very tasty breakfast. We then set off looking forward to another great day in London!

The Natural History Museum was fantastic. The children got to see lots of exhibits and had a superb time! The children then enjoyed their lunch in the grounds of the Natural History Museum. The children enjoyed seeing the excellent interactive exhibits all about: dinosaurs, volcanoes, earthquakes, mammals, minibeasts and more.

It's the end of our London trip 2025. The children were fantastic. They had a wonderful time and made some amazing memories! In fact, lots of the children mentioned that they would have liked the trip to have been longer!

The children were all on the bus happily chatting to their friends and playing games.

We next visited the incredible Tower of London, where the children had the chance to: soak in the history, see the beefeaters, admire the ravens, visit the armoury and even see the world-famous Crown Jewels!

We then had lunch and went to the river to enjoy the excellent river cruise. We saw lots of amazing sights down the river! We started the cruise at Tower Bridge, and left the boat at the Houses of Parliament and the Elizabeth Tower. Big Ben happily chimed for us as we left the boat!

The children then had a very tasty and well-deserved meal at Pizza Express. After filling up, we were then ready to go to the theatre to see Matilda the Musical!

The musical was great with fantastic singing, music and acting. The children say it was fun, with a few scary bits, but mostly amazing! Also, so far, this has been: 'The best trip ever!' The children really enjoyed the pizzas, but say that the best part so far has been the musical, especially the parts involving Ms Trunchbull and the newt.

Everyone is happily asleep, in the comfortable beds, in the hotel. Goodnight!

We visited the village of Sainte-Mère-Église, where the children will saw the church and have a chance to buy things in the shops. The church famously has the parachute memorial commemorating the story of John Steele, whose parachute caught on the church steeple on D-Day.

The children will also saw the Airborne Troops museum, which had lots of amazing, interactive exhibits. They also had a chance to experience what it felt like to parachute out of a plane on D-Day!

We then got back on the coach and headed off to the ferry in Cherbourg. Once again, the children had fun playing cards, watching animated films and singing a variety of songs.

We had an enjoyable ferry trip, in which the children had supper, went to the shops, played bingo and even sang some karaoke!

It's the end of another wonderful French trip. The children have been truly fantastic and have made everyone proud of them. They have learnt so much and have made memories that will last a lifetime, and be one more highlight, of many, of their time at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Primary School.

We stopped off at Omaha Beach, and as well as the beach and monuments, also saw another WW2 flypast!

We then went to visit the American War Cemetery. The cemetery was a very moving experience for everyone. The children were very respectful seeing the 9388 gravesites. They were able to see the places they had learnt about in school and understand the sacrifices made by the soldiers.

Afterwards, we went to visit scenic Arromanches and the famous Mulberry harbours. The children also had a chance to visit the gift shops and buy an ice cream too.

We then continued on our journey to Bayeux, home of the world-famous Bayeux tapestry! In Bayeux, we visited the impressive Cathedral of Our Lady of Bayeux. After that we had the chance to see and learn all about the incredible Bayeux tapestry.

Back at the chateau, the children had a lovely barbecue supper and then showed off their incredible dance moves at the disco! Everyone has now happily gone to bed. After another great day, everyone will sleep very well tonight. Bonne nuit!

After a short bus drive, we then arrived at the incredible and world-famous Mont-Saint-Michel! As can be seen from the photos, the commune was stunning. The children ate their packed lunch and then had a chance to buy a tasty ice-cream too!

Later, we visited the German War Cemetery. The children were very respectful as we walked around, and will be able to compare this cemetery to the American War Cemetery, when we visit there too. Whilst here, we were also lucky enough to see an incredible flypast featuring WW2 bomber planes!

We returned to the château and had a quick session playing in the games room. After a lovely supper, the children then showed off their singing talent at the karaoke!

It's the end of another wonderful day and everyone has gone to bed. After seeing all the great sights today, everyone will sleep well, to recharge for another great day tomorrow. Bonne nuit!

After crossing the beautiful English Channel🚢, and eating our packed breakfasts, we then arrived in 'la belle France!'🇫🇷

After a short drive, we stopped off for some tasty lunch. Feeling happy, full and ready, we then continued on with the rest of the trip to the château!

We then arrived at the beautiful château🏰. The children enjoyed playing outside before coming in for a lovely supper. Francois, the hotel manager has already complimented our children on their exemplary behaviour!

The children then took part in a fun treasure hunt/quiz! In teams, they had to search the football field area to find the hidden letters, and collect as many points as they could!

Finally, the children then had a chance to play a few games to end an exciting first day in France!

Avery and Jaiden both play for Luton Town.  Jaiden is a left winger and Avery plays left wing, right ring and striker.  Both boys are avid football fans - Avery's all time favourite player is Thierry Henry and Jaiden's all time favourite is Ronaldinho!

Musical Theatre Star

Brielle auditioned and got a part in TINA - The Tina Turner Musical.  She will be playing a young Alline/young Craig and will be performing at the Aldwych Theatre in London.  We are so excited for her and know she will be absolutely awesome.

Congratulations Avery, Jaiden and Brielle!

Both the string and brass groups performed a piece of music before they joined other Year 2 children from across Milton Keynes to perform a range of pieces, as a large ensemble. They were fantastic and we are very proud of their musical progress.

After our packed lunch the children carried out three energy experiments.  We then moved to biology to dissect an owl pellet and examine what the owl had eaten.  The final session was physics.  Here the children explored communication using morse code, sending and receiving messages with a spy in the middle trying to break the code.

We left at 3.15 pm.  Eton gave each pupil a small gift to remember their visit.

Next school year we will have two visits.

What an amazing achievement!

We listened to a range of pieces performed by the musicians on their woodwind instruments.  

It was fantastic to experience a live orchestral performance and to learn more about the instruments.
