School Partnerships Striving for Excellence

Oxford University Press

Over the last few years, we have developed and strengthened close links with Oxford University Press. We worked in partnership with them over the course of a year to develop their new reading scheme ‘Readerful’. This scheme aims to build fluency through Reading for Pleasure. We were able to sample books with classes across the school, providing feedback on the successes and needs for our pupils. These rich, linked library of inclusive, age-appropriate books helped boost fluency, knowledge, vocabulary and motivation even further. Oxford University Press were so impressed with the depth of knowledge and expertise of the staff taking part that they then asked us to be involved in making their promotional video for the new scheme.

Due to the success of the video, we were then asked to take part in a photoshoot for OUP which included a range of their resources. In school we already use a plethora of OUP products that were included in the photoshoot, but it was also a fantastic opportunity to get an exclusive look at new resources that are being published at a later date.

Chiltern Learning Trust

With a focus on initial teacher training provision, our school works closely with this Trust who work in liaison with Two Mile Ash.  This is the third year of our partnership.  Our school provides expert staff mentoring for trainees demonstrating a commitment to initial teacher training, providing a school structure that ensures effective support for trainees, clear leadership and management structures, systems and lines of communication.

Bridgebuilder Trust

Bridgebuilder Trust are a Christian organisation who deliver high quality faith based school assemblies throughout the year.  We also work with them on a number of other projects such as Christmas and Easter activity days for year 6 pupils and prayer spaces for all our pupils.

St Paul's Catholic Liaison Group

This partnership enables our children to work with the other Catholic primary schools on a variety of projects which includes sports festivals, school council, taster days for Design and Technology, Modern Foreign Languages and Drama.  This allows the children to benefit from subject specialist staff and also supports secondary school transition.

MK Foodbank

We are a registered foodbank school and work in liaison with them to refer families in need.  They are also one of our nominated local charities for whom our parents support generously.

CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development)

CAFOD work closely with the school to raise awareness of Catholic Social teaching.  This year as well as fundraising for CAFOD we are working in partnership to provide Catholic Social teaching based workshops for every year group.

Italian Consulate

Children at St Mary Magdalene learn Italian as a modern foreign language.  We are privileged to have a native speaking Italian teacher who teaches curriculum lessons and a weekly extra curricular activity club.

St Mary Magdalene Parish

We have a small number of parishioners who visit the school regularly to pray the Rosary with the children.  In January they will establish a Legion of Mary club for pupils in years 4, 5 and 6.

Diocesean Choral Director - Northampton

Our pupils benefit from the expertise of the Diocesean Choral DIrector who provides years 3 and 4 pupils the opportunity to learn and perform songs under her direction.  She also holds a weekly choir practice.  The children have performed at several events.
